who's who in 'artist unknown':

filmmaker biographies

Krispin Harker is an artist, performance artist, composer, musician, actor, intellectual, and erstwhile cultural gadfly currently residing along the U.S. East Coast/NYC metropolitan area.

During the making of artist unknown, Krispin contributed his formidable acting abilities, graphics talent, and numerous musical compositions toward the final project.

Jaime is a theater actress who's lived and worked in New York, Atlanta, and the southern U.S.

As an actress - turned massage therapist - turned baker,

Jaime likes to reinvent herself every 10 years or so.

Maybe next, she'll be an astronaut...

The inimitable Bruce Coles Hampton III (aka Col. Bruce Hampton), musician, band leader, actor and statesman, lent his formidable talents to artist unknown in the role of the Ghost of Hemingway.

Besides studying rare films of the famous writer during research for the part, Bruce literally spent several weeks cultivating the requisite "Hemingway" beard - unmistakably seen in this shot.

Perhaps the most accomplished stage actor to grace the set, Randy Cohlmia has worked nationwide in film and television, and has numerous stage credits in his curriculum vitae.

While most of the film's dialog was improvised, Randy insisted that certain sections of Dr. Robert's dialog be scripted in order that the medical details remained accurate in the clinical descriptions for all ailments which the film's characters were suffering.

Adrian Roberts -

Mimi Gould -

Adrian is an accomplished film and television actor whose credits include numerous tv series such as In the Heat of the Night; I'll Fly Away; and Trauma, and movies such as Goodbye Day (2003), The Madam's Family: Truth About the Canal Street Brothel (2004) and Psychopathia Sexualis (2006).

Adrian's character "Carl" (as with Carl's neighbor in the story, "Mose") was initially created as an amalgam of individuals

that writer Sean Irish had met since moving to the Southern U.S.

Primarily an Atlanta-based stage actress, Mimi's screen credits include the tv series It's Supernatural and the short film Undone (2011).

For artist unknown, Mimi portrayed a wheelchair-bound inpatient that suffers complex medical symptoms ranging from partial stroke and paralysis to selective brain damage and recognition difficulties.

Leon was already a talent long before artist unknown,

having worked with television productions like In The Heat

of the Night, and feature films such as The Legend of

Bagger Vance and Run Ronnie Run.

Most recently, Leon has appeared in Medea's Family Reunion, Medea Goes to Jail, and the tv series Memphis Beat.

Randy Blain is a multi-talented musician, composer, sculptor, writer, actor, and 3D video artist. Using his super-powers only for good, among Randy's numerous physical works is the landmark " Big Fish" sculpture on Pharr Road in Atlanta, as well as several other large commissioned fabrication pieces throughout the city.

As a singular performance in a 'walk-on' role, Randy wrote his character's street-wise monologue for artist unknown.

K.C. Reeves is an actress, mother, television producer, musician, and now restaurateur and club owner.

With all that going on in her life, how K.C. ever found time to portray the captivating Carolyn for artist unknown is a mystery, though we're all very glad she did.

Scott Matkovich is an East Coast-based graphics artist, actor and puppeteer, who not only makes a superb cup of java but also contributed camera operating talents for the project.

A Florida native and stage rigger by trade, in previous work, Stacey McDavid has appeared in numerous films and music videos; artist unknown was his first character featured role.

J.B. is a producer, director, art director, production consultant, family man and 'doggy-dad' whose client list includes The Dalai Lama and network television. Among others, J.B.'s work has played on ABC, BET, MTV, BBC-UK and TV Tokyo.

Reluctantly (yet brilliantly), he agreed to appear in front of the camera for artist unknown in an unnanounced character performance of the Ghost of Van Gogh.

Dan liked the idea of a acting in a walk-on improvisational performance that comprises a key character for the story

artist unknown.

Lance is an Atlanta-based editor, musician, composer and performance artist with a storied history of avant-garde works and music.

Even at that, Lance pretty well outdid himself in helping to create the award-winning soundtrack for artist unknown, including the definitive, haunting a capella work "away like a dream", which sets up a critical turn of events for the film's main character.

Brian Ransom-

co-producer

After graduating S.C.A.D., Brian crewed on films such as Babe, Forest Gump, Twelve monkeys, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil and Road trip before focusing on writing and producing for film and television.
